MEMBERSHIP 

GOA Membership is available to any person who wishes to join.  You can join as an ostomate or as an associate.

New ostomates are usually joined to the association by a Stomal Therapy Nurse and are also required to complete a Government Form. The Government requires that this form be completed to allow the Ostomate to access the Stoma Appliance Scheme (S.A.S.).

All ostomates, throughout Australia, are required to pay the annual National Access Fee, and if applicable for that association, an annual Local Association Membership Fee. If you are transferring from another association and you have paid your National Access Fee within that financial year, then only the GOA Association Membership Fee will be required.  All fees are renewable on or before 1st July each year.     

GOA application forms are available from the Association, can be downloaded here in pdf form or you can apply on-line.  Payment for membership and a copy of your Medicare care must be forwarded to the association with your application.
